Ashwater Parish Survey
Survey Comments Question 19
Are you satisfied with the standard of street lighting in Ashwater ?
Street lighting is for town and cities!!!
Further street lighting would not be appropriate. Many residents do not want more lighting [light pollution – we need to reduce use of electricity]
No street/permanent all night security lights outside the village
Please do not let them ruin our village with more lights and therefore light pollution
Street lighting in the village should be switched off at night say from 1.00am. Not kept on all night. Reasons- cost and also light pollution.
Along the main road between Ashwater school and Clawton
Could we consider non polluting lights so as to leave the night sky clear
We consider there is plenty of street lighting in Ashwater but would ask that the ubiquitous sodium lights be replaced with something less offensive
No more street lights please. No more light pollution.
Street lighting might be regarded as intrusive in an area of tranquillity. Why not turn off at midnight if we must have it.
Hazel Dean Hill
Nowhere. There is increasing light pollution. We live in the country not a city. Use a torch.
Lighting around the existing village hall/houses
There is too much street lighting and it is on all night. This is causing light pollution making it difficult to study the stars.
The Barton
Do not want to add to light pollution of the countryside
No further street lighting should be put up and much of it should be taken away. Light pollution of sky, energy waste, no benefit.
Along the streets not only by homes.
