Ashwater Parish Survey
Survey Comments Question 7 Housing
If house building takes place which type of scheme do you feel would be most beneficial?
| 24 | Parish sponsored self-build? |
| 37 | Starter homes and control are both an important part of any building programme to enable villages to retain young generation. |
| 46 | To be able to convert barns not only for holiday accommodation, which is already overdone |
| 63 | No development on new sites - selective, hall only, subject to agreement of a local majority |
| 80 | This is a loaded question which presupposes major development with which I strongly disagree. Ashwater is not suitable as a site for housing estates |
| 95 | If any property was to be proposed, then very limited amount for sale and rent/starter homes |
| 116 | No DSS — there is not the transport for getting people to and from work, Halwill let a lot of housing to DSS, most of those families are still there and still not working 13 years on |
| 117 | Less holiday homes in the village |
| 126 | Rental/starter homes should remain as such. No right to buy. |
| 157 | A mix is needed. |
| 169 | But affordable must really be affordable to local poorly paid workers earning below 20K p.a. |
