The Village

Ashwater is a small, picturesque village at the South of the parish, about 1 mile off the A388 between Holsworthy and Launceston. The village has several local amenities including a School, a General Store/Post Office, a Parish Hall, a Church and Methodist Chapel, and an Inn.
At the centre of the village is the green, which has some swings for the children to play on, and is host to many village events, such as the annual Easter Egg Hunt. The Village Inn is situated directly on the green, whilst the other amenities are within a (very) short walk.
There is a thriving local community, with many local events and societies. As well as the events organised by the various societies and fundraising committees in the village, there is also an Entertainments Committee whose sole purpose is to organise events and activities for the entertainment of the villagers.
On a clear day, both Dartmoor and Bodmin Moor can be seen from the village.
